This month, Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) Representative Samantha Herd is joining us for a conversation about COTA.
We'll discuss the economic impact of COTA on Reynoldsburg, what the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) could mean for local businesses, and how expanded access to public transportation can help shape the future of business and economic growth in Central Ohio.
Samantha Herd is an experienced Ohio public-affairs professional whose career spans municipal government, the state legislature, congressional constituent service and advocacy. A Cincinnati native and University of Cincinnati graduate, Herd has served as district director for U.S. Representatives Mary Jo Kilroy and Betty Sutton, led ProgressOhio’s Women, Work & Wages campaign and worked as chief of staff during the 2018 Cordray–Sutton gubernatorial campaign. In 2019, she became chief of staff for the Ohio House Democratic Caucus—the first woman in recent House history to hold the highest staff position for either party. She has now brought that extensive government, community-outreach and communications experience to a public-relations role with the Central Ohio Transit Authority.
